Description: The trip started out like any other trip we have ever planned, at my computer at work. Robin and I decided that we were going to hit New England a bit earlier this year, at the first week of Sept, rather than Columbus Day weekend like last year. We agreed that mid-week was the time and that if we wanted shots at False Albacore, we were too late last year. If we wanted miod-week, then we had to do it before Robin starts school so Aug 31, through Sept 2 was picked. Then the hand wringing began. Are we too early? Did we pick the right week? It was clear heading towards the week that the fishing may not be "On" as much as it was last year. Reportadly, the fishing was still stuck in the summer doldrems which meant Bass fishing late at night, and playing with cocktail blues during the day. It was all fine and dandy with us, we'll take what we get, and wouldn't it be cool if we crossed path with an albie during our 3 days.
We never dreamed 20 acres of albies were descending on the coast
